The shakshuka base is a combination of simmered tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, onions, garlic and spices.
Shakshuka is to be served with gently poached eggs cooked inside the sauce.
This is a shakshuka base, eggs are not included.
To complete the dish, heat up the starter sauce in pan, and add eggs until cooked.
The sauce can also be eaten as is, hot or cold.
Shakshuka is a traditional North African dish.
